The Witcher 3: Remastered is now available on PC, and there’s a fair bit of change you should make to get the best graphics performance. While the update has been pushed as an in-client update, the list of changes is massive.
In this guide, I will go through the best graphics settings to use on the Remastered version of the game.
Best The Witcher 3: Remastered graphics settings
While the Remastered version has certainly improved the visuals, the requirements have remained the same. While most of us should easily have setups capable enough to run the game, the changes you make should be focused around getting better optimization.
VSync: Off. This is an offline RPG, so there’s no benefit of using VSync. You should turn this on if you’re encountering stutters.
Resolution: It should match the native settings of your monitor.
Max FPS: 60 FPS remains the sweet spot. You won’t get any advantage by having higher number of frames at the cost of poor performance.
Ray Tracing: While my PC seems to run this alright, you should keep this off unless your system is capable enough.
Anti-Aliasing: Off. If you have a lag, you have to turn it on.
Dynamic Resolution Scaling: Off
Chromatic Aberration: Off
Number of Background Characters: Medium
Screen Space Shadows: Off
Foliage Visibility Range: Medium
The Remastered version has also changed some older systems from how they used to work. You can try them out on your existing save or begin a new one to get the true flavor of the work.
