As announced yesterday, pre-orders for Santa Monica Studio’s God of War Laufey have begun going live worldwide. Similar to the recently released Marvel’s Wolverine, the Standard Edition costs $69.99, while the Digital Deluxe Edition is $79.99.
One key difference is that you can purchase the latter separately for $10. This provides the Dark Alchemy Equipment Set, digital soundtrack, art book, and in-game resource pack to Standard Edition owners. Pre-ordering either edition grants a resource pack, a cosmetic appearance for Phranque and the Last Wish Armor Set for free, though the latter is unlockable by playing through the story.
God of War Laufey launches on February 16th, 2027, for PS5. Picking up in a new world called the Everywhen, Faye – who is decidedly not dead – encounters other deities and powerful beings, including Phranque the Cosmic Cube and Rue, an enchanted ribbon guarding a sword. After breaking free from an encampment run by Sekhmet and Begtse, she seemingly embarks on a journey to return home to Kratos and Atreus.
Laufey strikes a balance between the older and more contemporary combat systems, with more verticality and air combos. The developer recently revealed the Serpent Bow Faye can use to hinder enemies at range or juggle them for follow-up attacks. Head here to learn more.
