What a nightmare…on Elm Street, because it's on the BR map now.

Fortnitemares 2026 is a tale of two Freddies: Krueger and Fazbear.
The yearly Halloween-themed event for Fortnite is back in battle royale on Oct. 1, and this year’s got a star-studded lineup of new additions, including what could be the game’s most-requested ever in Five Nights at Freddy’s.
A new trailer for the event teased a slew of new additions and cosmetics, as Epic Games once again flexes its penchant for collaborations with big brands. Along with FNAF and A Nightmare on Elm Street, the trailer also confirms Beetlejuice, Slenderman, The Purge, and several other spooky collabs.
The one that caught my eye the most, however, is a quick flash towards the end: the One Wish Willow from one of this year’s biggest success stories at the box office, Obsession. I have no idea how that will be included in gameplay, but maybe the item will be a mythic that players can pick up and use somehow.
It’s not lost on me that the subject matter of these movies doesn’t exactly jibe with Fortnite’s kid-friendly aesthetic. Freddy Krueger is not a very good person! The One Wish Willow is innocent in theory, until it’s used for the wrong reasons (kids, please ask your parents before watching Obsession)!
Anyway, the Fortnitemares event is usually pretty cool every year. Epic Games always outdoes itself when it comes to reshaping the map with new points of interest (looks like Elm Street will be added somewhere), items, weapons, and more to celebrate the theme, the same way it does with the winter event surrounding the holidays.
